Boichek

1988-2006

To describe Boichek as a special cat is not doing him justice:  he was a person trapped in a cat suit.  We often joked that we each wanted to elope with him!  One way we knew how unusual he was (and this was only on of countless ways) was his eclectic palette - like the time he got a Chinese food carton stuck on his head with sesame noodles raining down on his head (he couldn't be happier) or the time he stole my half of a papaya out from under my nose and ran out the door with it.  Other than peanut butter, there really wasn't a food he wouldn't sample.  He was also a loving surrogate parent figure to the 2 new kittens we adopted a few months after Boichek's sister, K.T., passed away.  He was so depressed after her death, he wouldn't get up for breakfast so we knew we were in trouble.  He took to the new kittens instantly (well, after one incredible hiss), and he groomed them and nuzzled with each of them as though he were their parent - they adored him.  We only hope that wherever he is now features a big salad bar, where he can prance from bin to bin, from grated cheese to hard-boiled eggs to cantaloupe, saving for last the bin with his beloved papaya.  This for him would be the ultimate kitty heaven.
