Isabella

My sweet Dalmatian (the coat markings on her back were as such) Isabella was a very shy little girl from the moment we laid eyes on her. She later became very comfortable with us, and greeted me each morning by my bedroom door. When it took me a while to get out of bed, Isabella would meow to infinity until I came out. If not, her sister Ella would be called upon for more substantial meow ammunition. When I studied in my bedroom to keep my other two cats company, Isabella would start meowing again until I came out. Who would have thought that such a shy little girl had so much muster to get what she wanted?

Isabella’s eyes were always so expressive, and she used them to her advantage. One day I noticed Isabella staring intently on the top of a storage closet which was way too high for her to jump on top off and too far away from any jumping aid that could get her there. So Isabella started to sit by the closet and look at me until I would put her up there. I will not be able to pass this closet without thinking of her sitting there like a little princess or opening the bedroom door and not seeing her there waiting for me or meowing to get her turkey treat.

I miss Isabella’s little face and will regret not seeing her grow up as she was only nine months old when she passed away. There is a gaping hole in our hearts in the shape of a Dalmatian, and it will never be filled. You will always be my little Dalmatian, my sweet little girl. We were glad to have had you and will be forever grateful for having have met you.

Love you always….
