Roxy Baccus-Friedman
1994-2006
We adored
our Roxy - not everyone did! She was definitely "a piece of
work".
Losing her
at a mere 12 years old was hurtful but knowing we bought 2
pretty good years when she was diagnosed with low grade
lymphoma soothed us (thanks to the treatment she received at
Manhattan Cat Specialists). We had adopted Roxy from an
apartment on the Upper West Side when she was three years
old when her owner died. She had no claws but she sure had
teeth and fists. Though she did not take very well to other
people or animals, we accepted her "unusual charming"
personality as she became ever closer to us, nesting on my
chest each night. To us she was "a love bug" - to others, "a
horror" Strangely, she loved to meet and greet passing folks
on the boardwalk outside the gate of our Fire Island home -
somehow she must have felt secure out there.
We miss you
