Sammy Brown

February 8th, 1988 - January 16th, 2007

The son of Tanya (my cat) and Leo (Noreen Storch's cat)

Sammy was a very sweet and loving cat.  He loved any person and any cat that came into the house.  We miss him so much.

One picture with his sister Lois at 4 weeks old.  Tanya, after delivering her two kittens, moved them the next morning into a top dresser drawer in my bedroom and put them with my silk scarves. She snuggled down by a gray lamp my father gave me when I was born, and a childhood doll that was in the drawer.

When the kittens were born I had four cats.  Puck, a beautiful Himalayan, Tanya, Sammy & Lois.  Tanya and Puck taught the kittens not to scratch the furniture and how to be good cats.  Both Puck & Tanya took wonderful care of the kittens - Puck became their father.  When Lois was seven she died and that was very, very sad.  When Puck died it was dreadful - Tanya & Sammy wouldn't eat and they were very depressed.  I waited a few months and got two lilac point Siamese (Oscar & Luke).  They arrived at 10 weeks old and although Tanya wasn't happy with them, Sammy was overjoyed.  Sammy taught the new kittens what not to scratch and was always licking them.  You always saw the three together (Tanya didn't want to have anything to do with the new boys!).  When Tanya was dying the "boys" stayed by her side and were very sweet to her.

Sammy's death has been very hard on Oscar, Luke and myself.  Sweet and loving he always came running when you called his name.  Sammy was a talker and the house has been very, very quiet.  We miss him a great deal.
