Meet Our Veterinarians
Holly Hansen, DVM
Her interests in feline medicine are geriatrics, pain management, and dental health. Dr. Hansen thoroughly enjoys being a veterinarian as it allows her to combine her interest in science and medicine with her love of animals and those who care for them.
Prior to becoming a veterinarian, she was a medical crime scene investigator in NJ covering multiple counties. Born, raised and continuing to reside in Hudson County, NJ, she is a true Jersey girl. .
Dr. Hansen shares her home with a variety of many, many cats that she saved when volunteering her time with rescue groups and shelters. She escapes to the Jersey shore any chance she gets to enjoy the sun and ride the waves. She attends a variety of concerts (although a serious avid fan of Barry Manilow) when time allows. Enjoys horror movies and delving into some healthy rivalry among the Giants and Jets fans as she is a die hard fan of the 49ers and Saints.
Victoria Sheheri, DVM
Dr. Victoria Sheheri grew up in Brooklyn with a strong love and deep respect for all animals. Caring for dozens of neighborhood strays and two personal cats gave her invaluable experience working with frightened and sick cats, which she puts to good use every day at Manhattan Cats.
Dr. Sheheri strives to make veterinary visits and hospital stays as pleasant as possible for each of her patients as well as their owners. She understands and values your love and devotion for your extended family member and works hard to successfully diagnose and treat any health problems your cat may have.
Dr. Sheheri is a strong believer in the importance of thorough physical exams, and also prioritizes preventative care, the effects of the household environment and nutrition.
After graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Brooklyn College, Dr. Sheheri worked as a veterinary technician at a busy Brooklyn animal hospital and with racehorses in Florida and Kentucky before returning to school to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian. Dr. Sheheri graduated from Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and has been working almost exclusively in feline practice in the NYC area since that time, joining Manhattan Cats in September 2009.
In 2011, Dr. Sheheri was recruited by the board-certified feline veterinary specialists at the Veterinary Information Network (VIN), a worldwide network of veterinarians and veterinary specialists collaborating on challenging cases. She became one of fourteen Consultants and Associate Editors on their Feline Internal Medicine Board, and continues to help advise other veterinarians worldwide on challenging feline cases. The regular exposure to VIN’s broad and challenging case variety has helped Dr. Sheheri to quickly hone in on unusual problems that may have otherwise remained obscure.
When not at Manhattan Cat Specialists or on VIN, she enjoys running, vegan meals and old Volkswagens. She lives in Hoboken with her husband and their cat, Bad Apple.
